The Division Update 1.2 Conflicts: High Value Targets, Search and Destroy
With Patch 1.2 released next Tuesday the 24th. there is a lot to look forward to! These are the High Value Targets, which was previously announced, along with Search and Destroy.
The Search and Destroy missions can be found in the safe houses throughout Manhattan. They are retrieved from the mission board once all the content in that named zone has been cleared and cater to level 30 agents.
Players will need to take out various groups of level 30 enemies and once they do, they return to the safe house to acquire Target Intel. This is a new currency which can be spent in order to gain access to the previously announced High Value Target missions.
Safe house mission boards can be interacted with as "many times" as the players likes, but there will be an "incentive to go to different named zones through the Critical Search and Destroy system."
According to Ubisoft Massive, one named zone at a time will be marked as critical. Complete the Search and Destroy missions in that zone and players will be handed an additional Target Intel. Once it has been dealt with, a new zone is marked critical and they can either eliminate the threats or see which High Value Target is available.
High Value Targets are 30+ elite enemies which players can take out. Two NPCs located in the Base of Operations will provide six daily and four weekly missions which are accessed using the new Target Intel. The weekly missions are more difficult, so players may need to take some agents along with them.
Some are High Risk Targets and while similar to High Value Targets, the difficulty is increased. Should the player fail, they will have to "rebuy" the target mission. That being said, should the player take out the High Risk Target, there is more potential for High End and Gear Set rewards drops.
The new Clear Sky Incursion will also have a Challenge Mode and it will launch the week after Hard mode.
Extractions, Sealed Caches, and going Rogue Hijack Extractions provide players with a new way to go Rogue without having to shoot at other Agents, said Massive.
Taking place in the Dark Zone, players will need to interrupt all ongoing extractions by "severing the loot rope." Once the loot has been secured to the helicopter rope, another player will approach it, cut the rope and grab the bag.
Massive said this means "there is no more attach and run," as players will now need to protect the contaminated bag until the helicopter flies off.
Upon interacting with the bag, the player will be instantly marked Rogue. Being shot at while taking the time to cut the rope will slow things down, but once the interaction is complete, all the loot will drop. Watch out for thieves, obviously.
"There are two sides of the coin that need to be considered," said Terry Spier, lead game designer at Red Storm. "Hijack extractions are going to change the patterns and behaviors some players have learned since the game was released.
"Just walking up to an extraction will cause even more tension between Agents. Some smart Agents may try to expose curious Rogues by attaching some less than favorable loot to the rope to see who comes to take it."
Massive also provided more information on Sealed Caches which drop from named enemies, which can contain "mystery items."
Once the cache is in the player's hands and has been extracted, they can interact with it to reveal a list of items. These will be distributed into the correct inventory slots and can then be traded under normal trading rules.
Items will represent a variety of offerings ranging from Dark Zone credits, to Specialized, Superior, High-End and Gear Sets. The quality of the loot will also reflect the difficulty of the NPC which dropped it. Quality is also indicated on the range of crafting materials and Dark Zone credits displayed in the UI.
Finally, the similar to Hijack extraction, Sealed Caches will add "more to the extraction loop" providing players with another choice when deciding what they wish to extract.
Basically, players will need to choose between a sure thing or go for the mystery box. Hopefully, it won't be your wife's head. Yeah, I know. Used and abused reference there.
And there is a vedio to introduce the Update 1.2:
